AT A GLANCE
The National Chamber of the Restaurant and Prepared Food Industry (CANIRAC Cozumel) and Costamed Medical Group signed an agreement so that staff at member restaurants can access preferential rates on medical services, along with free health talks and health days.
It is not insurance and it is not a membership anyone has to pay for. It is a benefit that comes with working at a member business. All it takes is an active registration and the benefits card.
Service | Benefit | Details |
|---|---|---|
General medicine | 50% | $175 MXN during established hours. $250 MXN outside those hours or in the Emergency Room. |
Specialists | 20% | With participating physicians, by appointment. |
Dental | 15% | On dental procedures, implants excluded. One free annual assessment. |
Hospital services | 15% | On the services covered by the agreement. |
* Benefits apply with the participating physicians and services in effect at the time of care.
The most important responsibility of a member restaurant is keeping its staff list current in the CANIRAC–Costamed database. Additions, removals and changes are reflected in real time, and an employee who does not appear as ACTIVE cannot receive the benefit.
Keeping the list current is not paperwork. It is what makes the benefit actually work the day one of your people needs it.
In both cases, program conditions and registration validation apply.
Important: the card alone does not guarantee the benefit. The registration must appear as ACTIVE in the database. If it no longer does, the fix is with the restaurant's HR contact, who keeps the staff list up to date. |
You can review the full directory of physicians participating in the agreement, including their specialty, professional license number, training and the languages they practice in.
Many of them see patients in both English and Spanish, across emergency medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, urology, gerontology, nutrition and hyperbaric medicine.

The agreement covers more than treatment. It includes prevention talks delivered by Costamed professionals and coordinated with your business and CANIRAC. Participants receive a certificate issued by Costamed.
